Pork Fried Rice

Chinese long-grain rice stir-fried with egg, yellow onion, garlic, petite peas, bok choy, sugar, salt, pepper, and roasted pork.
Ingredients -
 

2 1/4 cups cooked Long-Grain White Rice
4 teaspoons Canola Oil, divided use
1 Egg
1 medium Yellow Onion, sliced
4 cloves Garlic, crushed
2 cups frozen Petite Peas
8 ounces Roast Pork cut into 1/4-inch cubes
10 large Chinese Cabbage Leaves, sliced
2 teaspoons Sugar
Salt, to taste
Fresh Ground Black Pepper, to taste
2 tablespoons Low-Salt Soy Sauce
1 tablespoon Hoisin Sauce
6 Green Onions, sliced

 
Preparation:
 
1. Toss cooked rice with 1-teaspoon oil.

2. Heat wok and 3 teaspoons oil on high heat.

3. As oil begins to smoke, add egg and scramble.

4. Add rice and onion, stir-fry 2 minutes.

5. Add garlic, peas and pork, stir-fry 1 minute.

6. Add cabbage, sugar, salt and pepper to taste.

7. Mix soy sauce and hoisin sauces and add to rice.

8. Add green onions. Stir-fry, about 1 minute.

Fried Rice Tips -
Hoisin Sauce

Mix 4 tablespoons soy sauce, 2 tablespoons or black bean paste, 2 teaspoons white vinegar, 1 tablespoon molasses, 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder, 1/2 teaspoon Chinese-style hot sauce, 2 teaspoons sesame seed oil, 1/8 teaspoon black pepper together well.

Chinese Cabbage

Chinese cabbage is also known by the name bok choy. Substitute shredded napa cabbage for the Chinese cabbage, if Chinese cabbage is not available.
